My love of wood started through my involvement in a timber business, felling trees and selling the wood to cabinet-makers. Being the first person to see the inside of a tree is awesome. Discovering the wonderful colours, shapes and growing patterns inspired me to set aside some of the timber and keep the natural edge.

I started with woodturning in my spare time. My first request was for a bowl big enough to sit in. This first commission attracted a lot of attention and  made me realise that the only limit to my creativity was my imagination.
